(NRSC News) – Washington is united over calls for Russian President Vladimir Putin to be assassinated as a means to end the war. Despite this plot having Bipartisan support in the US, not everyone in Russia is a fan of getting rid of Putin.
Nonetheless, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said this week on Fox News that Putin needs to be taken out to end the war.
“How does this war end? When Russia breaks, and they take Putin out. Anything short of that, the war’s gonna continue,” Graham remarked on Wednesday’s America Reports on Fox.
He further stated that Moscow’s invasion won’t succeed because the United States is “in it to win it, and the only way you’re gonna win it is to break the Russian military and have somebody in Russia take Putin out to give the Russian people a new lease on life.”
Nevermind the fact that life is actually pretty good right now in Russia even with US sanctions being imposed on the country.
Graham also called on Washington and NATO to keep up arms and support for Ukraine “completely, all in without equivocation,” and that ramping up long-range missile transfers to Kiev would help “dislodge” Russian forces from the Donbas, and even Crimea.
He further commented that larger drones would “kill tons of Russians without losing any Ukrainians in the endeavor” and essentially called for giving Ukrainian President Zelensky everything he’s asking for.
On Wednesday, Zelensky addressed Congress, which was missing around half of the Republicans in the House due to bad weather and a last minute announcement about the address. During the address, Zelensky suggested the US should go as far as to send tanks and aircrafts.
“I can assure you that Ukrainian soldiers can perfectly operate American tanks and planes themselves,” he had noted during the 30-minute speech.

Graham has called for Putin’s assassination on a national news program before. Back in March he made similar comments which caused the White House to make an official statement distancing Biden from the call for Putin’s assassination.
The White House Press Secretary had asserted “that is not the position of the United States government and certainly not a statement you’d hear come from the mouth of anybody working in this administration.”
What Republicans need to do when they take control of Congress at the start of the new year is rein in the amount of aid being sent to Ukraine. Russia has already threatened to take action against the US should we ramp up our support of Ukraine.
It’s only a matter of time before Russia has had enough of US intervention in its war with Ukraine. Not to mention the fact that Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. There’s a good chance our support of Ukraine will eventually backfire on the US. Only time will tell.
