WATCH: Biden Judicial Nominee Stumped By Basic Questions About Constitution

(NRSC News) – Joe Biden is a puppet for the radical Deep State regime therefore it makes sense that he would appoint others who are equally incompetent but eager to be used as puppets by the regime.

That was obvious during an embarrassing Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last week when Biden’s nominee, Charnelle Bjelkengren, for the US District Court for the Eastern District of Washington completely bombed several basic, rudimentary questions.

It shouldn’t be expecting too much to think someone who has held multiple high-level judicial roles, including as an administrative law judge and a superior court judge, would have a basic knowledge of the US Constitution. However, Bjelkengren appears to have none.

On Wednesday, she made her ignorance known when Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) asked her some pretty easy questions that anyone whose job it is to uphold the law should know. She was utterly clueless and it was cringey, to say the least.

Sen. Kennedy directly asked her to explain what Article V of the Constitution does and her response should be concerning. It was certainly embarrassing.

“Article V is not coming to mind at the moment,” Bjelkengren replied.

Article V describes the procedures to make amendments to the Constitution. Anyone with even just a cursory knowledge of US law should at least have a firm grasp on the US Constitution.

“How does a judge not know the Constitution? Isn’t that the core of the Federal judicial system?” one Twitter user wrote.

“Embarrassing: Watch Senator John Kennedy stump a Biden judicial nominee with basic questions about the U.S. Constitution,” Kyle Becker tweeted.

Kennedy continued asking his line of softball questions, “How about Article II?” he asked.

Bjelkengren said with awkward confidence, “Neither is Article II.”

As a Western Journal writer noted, “The confirmation hearing probably should have been stopped at this point, as an experienced judge who doesn’t know that Article II of the Constitution describes the Executive Branch of government should not be allowed to sit in a powerful federal judgeship that could have massive implications on future policies concerning Executive Branch decisions.”

“As a judge, how do you not know this?!” one Twitter user asked.

“That was painful to watch; arguably horrific,” another posted.

One Twitter user pointed out that Kennedy wasn’t even going hard yet. “The sad thing is that he’s not asking ‘gotcha’ questions.”

Kennedy, an experienced lawyer himself, decided to step up his questions after she failed to provide answers on the easy ones. Considering Bjelkengren has years of Judiciary experience along with a law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law, you’d think she’d be able to answer some technical legal questions. You’d be wrong.

“Do you know what purposivism is?” Kennedy asked. The legal term, as defined by Legal Theory Lexicon, refers “to the approach to statutory interpretation that maintains that the legal effect of a statute should be determined by the objective purpose of the statute.”

Bjelkengren opted to promote her job experience rather than answer the question.

“Um, in my 12 years as an assistant attorney general and my nine years serving as a judge, I was not faced with that precise question. Um, we are the highest trial court in Washington state so I’m frequently faced with issues that I’m not familiar with and I thoroughly review the law, I research, and apply the law to the facts presented to me,” Bjelkengren responded.

It might have been less embarrassing if she just admitted she didn’t have a clue.

No one in the room should have wanted to proceed with her confirmation but it isn’t about competence with the left, it’s always about the glass ceiling.

An Alliance For Justice fact sheet pointed out that if confirmed, Bjelkengren would be “the first black woman to serve on a federal District Court in the state of Washington.”

Of course, her skin color shouldn’t matter in the slightest. Her knowledge and ability should be the only considerations for a federal judgeship. A basic understanding and knowledge of the US Constitution should be a prerequisite.
